What is a Canadian landed price?

Montreal Lighting and Hardware sells all its lighting, hardware and fixtures at the lowest internet landed price. “Landed” refers to merchandise that has been shipped, received, brokered through customs and made available for sale and service in Canada. It is the lowest price you will actually pay.

In some cases, you may see a lower advertised price on a U.S. site, but that price is incomplete. Here is what you need to factor in:

Buying from a U.S. site

Hidden Costs Add Up

  • “Free shipping” usually covers the 48 contiguous states only. Canada often incurs extra fees.
  • GST, PST or HST are due on import, collected C.O.D. before delivery
  • Import duties are also collected C.O.D.
  • Carrier brokerage fees add further to the cost
  • Prices are in U.S. dollars, subject to exchange rates and credit card conversion fees
  • Returns must be shipped back to the U.S. at your expense, with possible re-import duty on replacements

Our Best Price Promise applies only to the Canadian landed price of the identical product from the same manufacturer. The competitor must be an authorized dealer of the product. A website link or advertised price from the competing vendor for the same product shipped to the same address must be submitted to Montreal Lighting and Hardware.

Sales tax, shipping and handling, duties and import fees will be factored in to determine the final Canadian price. This offer does not apply to clearance items. Other restrictions may apply.
